I have rubber backed curtains and there seems to be very light mold forming on the backing due to moisture. How can I remove this? Would a chlorine based mold killer be too strong?

They are expensive curtains, so throwing them out is not an option.

Wash them in warm water with pinesol.Rinse twice. Clean the wall and window , all crevices also, with bleach water before rehanging the curtains. Spray a water-1gal/bleach-1/8th c. solution every now and then on the wall and window to prevent it from coming back. You can also open the windows on nice dry days to prevent the mold.

Well use it, if it is mold you wont be able to use the curtains with the mold on them, so if you don't get it off the curtains are ruined anyway!

i think it would be easier and healthier for you just to buy a new curtains. then spray them with like Lysol or something every so often to prevent mold from forming on the new ones.

You can try washing them with towels. Towels tend to provide that mild scrubbing motion needed to remove mold and mildew.
