I'm not sure if they make the chewable prenatals, but if your OB has told you what to take and it is safe then you should listen to what they say, not what people on here with no medical training say.

My doctor told me the same thing, I thought about changin my prenatals because they make me so sick however if you compare both pills you will see they are different NOW, they make vitamins for children and vitamins for pregnant women, so even when my vitamins make me sick I still take them because the vitamins are different, compare both and you will see, I'd rather get the right amount of vitamins and minerals. If they were as good for pregnant women the chewables would say that they are good for pregnant women too but they don't. Yes they are chewable and they are great BUT folic acid is not the only complete vitamin you need. I have a hard time swallowing them but i do swallow them, and once they have been swallowed they disolve and it all goes for your baby. That is why I am commiting to taking them. There are NO chewable prenatal vitamins, if they had them trust me every pregnant women would take them, the way I see it is, it only takes about 3 minutes of my day to try to swallow them, I have also cut them in half and it is much better, sometimes I roll them in a piece of ham and it is just fine.

Absolutely! I have always eaten the Flintstone's chewables when morning sickness set in. Still needed the extra vitamins, but those horrible prenatals are too hard to swallow, let alone keep down!
And - now I have 5 beautiful, healthy, gifted children. With twins on the way. It's all gotta start somewhere!

wow I've never heard of that before but if your OB is telling you it's alright I'm sure she's right. If your not comfortable with her decision get a second opinion. And yes there are chewable prenatal vitamins out there I cant swallow pills so I had chewable ones during my pregnancy.

prenatal vitamins made me sick no matter what time of day or what I ate with them. My OB told me Flinstones too. My babies were 8 1/2 lbs. and 10lb. they are both very healthy girls. So I say go for it and don't worry. Good luck to you.

I have never heard of a doctor telling a pregnant woman to take Flinstone vitamins . . . sorry . . . you can also check the health food store in your area for prenatals that would be easier for you to use . . . do you have a GNC or DeWalts in your area? I don't mean the drug store, you want a health food store . . . good luck
