It's the classic Muslims vs. Jewish. They have been struggling over their land for thousands of years. It is holy to both of them. One believes that the land is theres, and one is actually occupying the land and defending it, and returning the attacks. It is a hostile zone where the middle east is becoming more volatile. It's kind of like a bad habit for some of them. They believe so much in their religion and what they are doing, they are willing to die and kill for those beliefs. Many have grown up learning about hate for the other and recruiters for both sides takes this as an advantage. Martyrs are made and the cycle is propelled in to starting all over again. There is no simple quick fix, only pain and suffering to hopefully eventually develop a solution.

Well, Isreal began bombing Hezbollah strongholds and places thet could use to escape the country, such as the Beriut airport and busy roads. They did this because of Hezbollah kidnapping 2 Irserali soliders, though this was just used as an excuse to begin the bombing on the militants, as they have been planning this offensive for 5 years. Hezbollah has been linked to attacks on Isreal and on Americans in Isreal. They have responded to these attacks by firing rockets into cities such as Hafia, and soon the major city of Tele Aiv ( not sure if that's spelled correct) The international community has called for a cease fire, though Pres. Bush supports Isreal's right to defend itself. PM of England Tony Blair has also proposed that an international force, such as NATO, be deployed there as a peace keeping force. Be sure to watch te news in the next few days or weeks for more info.

Iran is and other Arabic/ Islamic interests are behind the attacks on Israel, and it is likely happening now to draw more ire and despair from the international community to lessen support for the US and its policy of containing Islamic facism which denies rights to its own people and more specifically its women. You will note that western culture advanced when we recognized more rights for women. I wonder where the National Organization of Women stands on freedom and equal rights for the sisterhood in the Middle East? Hmmm. Pretty silent aren't they.

WHO: Israel, Hizbollah (in power in lebanon), Hamas (terrorists) and possibly Syria...
Hizbollah started this when they kidnapped two Israeli soldiers. Bad idea.
Israel retaliated as they do, taking out Hizbollah strongholds and command points and supplies.
This is happening because leaders of Hizbollah (and hamas) have tried to take advantage of the possible confusion and percieved weakness of the new israeli prime minister.
They were wrong.

The issue is not new. You can have understanding of problem by studying history. Iraq has been attacked because of oil and its armed strength. Palestinian wanted their land back. Israel wanted to secure itself by using force in a cruel way. No solution is in sight. People of the world like you are upset because they dislike blood shedding.
