dixie. And for the record did secede, as they had the right to do according to the original founding fathers of the United states. Unfortunately, The south was conquered by the united states army who invaded the Confederate states of America. Dixie would have been our National anthem.

So many to choose from! If we have an official one, it would definitely be 'Dixie' just for the tradition, and for the fact that it is connected soley with the beautiful South. But you also have to consider 'Freebird' by the immortal Lynard Skynard, 'The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down' by The Band, 'Sweet Southern Comfort' by Buddy Jewel, 'Song of the South' by Alabama, 'Oh My Sweet Carolina' by Ryan Adams, 'Georgia On My Mind' by Ray Charles, 'You Ain't Just Whistling Dixie' by the Bellamy Brothers, and 'Southland in the Springtime' by the Indigo Girls, just to list my favorite southern songs!
