thing is that when i tried to put the tampon in, it didn't go in even though i followed the instructions on the box. Anyway, it really hurt, but im not sure if it was from having my period or from the tampon. Do you think i broke my hymen, even though the tampon only went in about an inch or something around there? I am still a virgin. Also, if you can provide a website with pictures of where the hymen is located or if you can tell me exactly where it is located and how it tears and how to check if i still have it and how it looks like, it would be really appreciated. Thank you!!!

It is unlikely that a tampon would break or tear your hymen, but why don't you ask your doctor the next time you go for a PAP? If you're not going yearly yet, you really, really need to get started. Your doctor can confirm to you whether or not your hymen broke. But, even if it did break or tear, it does not mean you are not a virgin.
