While 'Kin' means Family & relatives, 'Kith' means Friends & Relatives. So the expression 'Kith & Kin' means, family, friends & relatives.

Now -a-days we see 'Near & Dear Ones' in the marriage Invitations. This is an umbrella term for all CLOSE members of the family, friends & relatives.
