Since 1954 in Switzerland the World Cup has been transmited on radio and some t.v. shots for documentaries and television delayed news
1962 in Chile was the first time thanks to the invention of the satellites that they broadcasted the World Cup in NorthAmerica and to all the world of soccer fans
1970 in Mexico was the first color broadcast of the World Cup
Now in 2006 in Germany you can also follow the World Cup by Internet as well as most people, by radio and television

Yes. It has been Broadcast since the 50's I believe. The onset of TV broadcast was not until 60-70s
