You need to move on. Do you want to have a marriage that works like this? I don't know if you're old enough to get married or if you want to marry this one. But, you need to practice healthy relationships before you get married, and this isn't one.

"Is my life better with him or without him?" What are you getting out of this relationship? What is it about him that you actually love?
Sounds to me like he's just a habit. It seems you are unhappy most of the time worrying about the next time he is going to break your heart, and after 13 times you can bet it will happen again. Why do you want to continue being unhappy?
It might help to get a friend to help and support you to "quit" this guy. You will find someone else.
Does the "15" in your Yahoo name refer to your age? If so, you have lots of time to date and be friends with other guys who might not break your heart.
(Your online name sends out an immature sex-only message. You should change it...unless that's the image you want).

well I'd like to ask you something when you say " " I've been going out off and on for years " do you mean he got a new girl ? but if not he he might need some space and he didn't mean to break your heart or anything I think he still loves you but give him some space but if he borke your heart and mess with other girl that means....he got some plans..and his new girl probably didn't treat him right and he might have thought " oh this girl treats me like **** now lets get back to my ex " BUT " oh she she treats me better now..oh well just forget about my ex and go back to my new one " it could be that..so all you gotta do is..let him prove him self and give hima lil bit space and more time for him to prove him self thta he wouldn't break your heart again...I've never had a gf before but I just know it...!!! so good luck ..cheer ;)

O dear! 13 times? It's hard to undo that. I'm afraid the onus lies on you. Why don't you start by believing in yourself?

Thirteen times?!?!?!? Once a cheater always a cheater. Move on and find someone else who will not hurt you. Love don't hurt that much.

i advice you take the lead and somewhat keeping him in control this time around, to avoid more conflicts. might be a bit more strict on him until he gains back that trust.

believe me, just start dating other men and you will loose your interest in him! were women, we can give more love than men (that's true) but life is too short and we only live once, don't waste it.
