I only have one tattoo and I got that when I was 19 (10 years ago!). I have a small tatt on my back, on the shoulder blade. I dress very modestly and only few people know I have one. I have been able to hide it from my dad this long...I'm pretty happy about the tattoo's location. I don't feel uncomfortable at work or church. Just consider what you plan on doing in the next 5 years or so. Don't get something somewhere that you may regret.

I don't have any tattoo's myself but my freinds have quite a few, Firstly, if your a skinny dude don't get a Tat on anywhere boney such as chest ribs shoulder blade ankle, it'll also hurt on your throat, make sure you get a brand new needle when getting your tattoo or atleast a freshly steralized one and goto a reputable tattoo parlour, don't forget that your tattoo will fade so it will need to be touched up/re-coloured maybe as often as every year, and as was said earlier it will wrinkle with age

If you're scared, then go for something small, cute, and somewhere you don't have to look at it everyday when you see yourself in the mirror or looking down at your arms, etc. Get a little star, heart, flower. Something the size of your finger tip. If you are a tattoo person, you'll love it and you'll know what you want then. It's expensive to have to turn around and get rid of something that you're tired of looking at! It's going to be a part of your body for a long time! (I'm assuming you're a girl on this one).

If you are planning on getting one first I would go into the Tat parlor and have the artists show you around. Make sure they sterilize and that the parlor is clean. Ask a lot of questions about the needles, ink etc. and how they will proceed with the tattoo. If they are reputable they will give you a tour.

Mid Section. Its easy to hide and when your old and wrinky, and for the lucky ones that just age in years, you can easly keep it in check. So it wont look nasty, like a neck tattoo would.

Also stay away from the bone, it hurts more there. ;]

I suggest you pick a spot where the skins kinda hard if that makes an sense and somewhere where there arent alot of nerves cause if you get it like between ur shoulder blades its gonna hurt like all hell lol. Since its ur first one get something tiny like a pair of cute cherries on ur ankle or something. Something simple... Hope this helpsss

WHY?
start with these questions; why u need this tatoo?, will u still want it in 40 years time?, where do u want it to be?, what kind of tatoo will suit u now and still suit u in 60 years time? why do u need to ask people on the net where u should get ur bodied tatoo'd? will this tatoo change u in the positive?

Consider this...you are 20 now, but a tattoo lasts for life....even when your old body starts to sag.

You do Not need one! When you are 50+ you are going to wish you did not get a tattoo. You will be all wrinkily at age 70+ and you won't even be able to tell what it is!!

Go to texas, they r pros. My friend got one for $10 and it was crap.

Also- I wouldn't suggest getting a tattoo, it's kinda a waste of money, and it can affect your health if you don't go to the right place. Some people are rude and cruel and put poisen in their color stuff.

Be careful
