I don't know if they should rely on them and base all of their diagnostic impressions and treatment plan on them. However, they are very useful tools to facilitate diagnosis and treatment.

why wouldn't they? They are put into a situation to help families that they do not know and these assesment tools assist them in understanding the family and the presenting problems.
