First off: Take a deep breath and relax.

Tell me about yourself
Give them the story of the things that you are working for in your life and some things that you have set as goals and accomplished.

How do you deal with difficult customers?
Mention that you have a brother, sister or friend that isn't always easy to get along with but that you try to respond by taking a deep breath and remembering that they may be upset about something else and you won't take it personally and will work to help them with their question or issue - just as you handle problems with your friends or family.

How would you respond if you were offered the job?
Well, you may not have a lot of options and since you are asking the question on here it seems you must really want it so I'd say if the money is right then take it.

What would you do if you had to deal with an angry customer?
Remember that everyone gets angry sometimes and not to take it personally. It's really great training for later on in life to see how silly adults behave sometimes. Just don't let them know you think that. Rise above it.

Give an example of when you had to settle a dispute between two individuals

I'm sure you have lot's of examples from your family or friends.

What is your ideal job
Give an example of what you think you most enjoy. You may be good at one thing or have a hobby that you are particularly good at. You could say engineering if you are good at fixing cars or bikes and then say you would combine that with a business degree to maximize your earning potential.

Why do you want this job?
Because you think you will be good at it and it will help you to meet your goals of saving for college.

How would you approach this job? How would you do it?
Well, my dad always told me that if you are a janitor - be the best janitor you can be. I'll tell you, I pass a guy who has a job close to being a janitor and he lives that to the fullest and always has the biggest smile and hello for everyone. Not bad.

What are your strengths?
You persevere to get the job done and you anticipate developments and obstacles and work through them or around them. You are a people person and enjoy interacting and working as a team or alone as well.

What are your weaknesses?
None that come to mind but sometimes I work hard at things where others expend less of themselves.

How do you handle tension/stress?
I run and hit the gym a lot. I laugh easily and a lot.

Tell me about a big challenge or difficulty you've faced; how did you deal with it?
You had a teacher that seemed to hate everyone and was really mean but you found that if you did a good job and joked (mildly) with her now and then that her life got a bit easier and she seemed to enjoy teaching a bit more. You turned her into a "glass half full" type person, at least as it concerned you.

I think the hardest question on your list is "what are your weaknesses". I was told at a job search workshop to using a strength as a weakness. I always say something like "I am so concerned about doing a job well. My work ethic sometimes makes other people jealous and they try to make me look bad.

Sometimes the best way to deal with a difficult customer is find a supervisor to take over. If it gets to a point where there is no longer any communication happening between you and a customer you go explain what is happening to a supervisor and have the supervisor basically tell the customer exactly what you just told them.

Tell the interviewer cool stuff about you.. Are you creative? Do you like people? Do you like to find solutions to problems intstead of staying in the problem?

The reason you want the job obviously is to learn and grow with the company. To get some experience in customer service. To help out where you can and be part of the team.

Always respond in a positive way..even to negative questions..
When I'm stressed I try to journal.. Or I go exercise.. something like that..

I would suggest writing out your answers to these and sorta study them so that when they are asked to you at the interview hopefully you'll be able to pull them from memory.. When I mean write I mean handwrite.. not type.. I remember things better when I have physically written them down.

Hope this helps you out.

Well....its good that you are into earning part-time now. Hope these answers could help.

For all the answers, your answers could be different, but you should try to put yourself to finding out what the employer wants.

In this case, for example, Kmart, Why do you think your employer would hire you???

Maybe its because you're a pleasing person.
Maybe its because you're good in talking and helping people out.
Maybe its because you're good at remembering and organizing.
Maybe its because you're hard-working and committed e.t.c.

You get the picture. Put yourself in the best light as possible and just be yourself. the fact that you are so young and ready to work is like a big plus point in itself.......and the fact that you're accessing this post to read it shows that you aint no dummy with the computer.

So.........just be yourself.

If you still want some answers....here are a few:

Tell me about yourself??
(Tell about the positive aspects in you that the employer would really like you to have in his jobs like....you could say that you're good with people, are patient and observant, hard-working and organized e.t.c.)

How do you deal with difficult customers?
(Well, i understand that customers who are having grievances are upset with their expectations of our company. I would in this case try to do the best within my level to find out what the customer wants and placate it to my concerned higher-ups. )
In short...you have to convince your employer that you won't start shouting back at the customer here or picking up a brawl. Get it?

How would you respond if you were offered the job?
(Well, i would like to find out my requirements over the initial days of the jobs and prepare myself over any groundwork as necessary for it.)

What would you do if you had an angry customer?
(The same answer as the difficult customer question)

Give an example of when you had to settle a dispute between two individuals?
(You basically have to show your employer here how you manage situations and avoid getting into brawls. If you don't have any experience in such situations......just state that you never came across people fighting, but if there were to come such as situation, i would try to pacity the individuals first and calmly have them address the reason they are fighting over)

What is your ideal job?
(Dont seem artificial in telling your employer that his job is your ideal job, but rather explain the answer in terms of your skills such as you like a hands-on job interacting and helping people out e.t.c. You get the idea?

How would you approach this job?How would you do it?
(To answer this, try going to a kmart and see how the representatives help you out there. Simply then answer your manager the same over how you can help people out.)

What are your strengths?
(Tell the positive aspects in terms of what makes you more suitable to the job)

What are your weakness?
This is a trick question, but you should say that you have NO Weakness at all. Try putting a positive point as a weakness by saying:
"I get involved a lot in my work.....and this sometimes put me behind schedules over my other activities.". This basically shows that you are more committed to your work, but this kinda has a negative result over your other activities.

How do you handle tension/stress?
(I try to freak out playing sports or basically be yourself here....and answer it in terms of anything that makes you most happy and relaxed)

Tell me about a big challenge or difficulty you faced. how did you deal with it?
To answer this, you have to study your past incidents and choose one which is quite appropriate in showing you in positive light towards the job.

Hope these helped you out. If you need help any further, just email me at lv.raghavendra@gmail.com.

Good luck.
