Why should I apologize for or ask forgiveness for something which I had no part. Have you apologized to any japanese for the bombing of Nagasaki? Would you apologize for your school if it humiliated another in football 101-0? It makes no sense. Plus, it was other africans who sold africans into slavery, should africa apologize? Also, all things considered, any black americans who think their life would be better if they were living in africa rather than their ancestors being sold into american slavery, should be given a free one way ticket to africa.

Talk about old news. If whitey as you call it had to apologize for everything they have done , it would last another 1000 years. Stop trying to stir sh**. I am white and I have not done anything against any race because I wasnt raised to look at color or nationality. That is what all humans need to focus on then there will be no need of apologizing for anything. Everyone that was at fault for slavery is either dead or has one foot in the grave. Let slavery and the ones behind it die.

Who is this Whitey person? Was he a great slave owner? How is he still alive all these years later? Have there been any survivors of the other countries who kept slaves and sold them to this Whitey guy?

Hey, Erycm, GREAT idea. Lets put all of the decendants of slaves on controlled land were, in many areas, there is no electricity, the schools are substandard, and the poverty is abysmal. In fact life on the "reservation" is so good many of the residents drink themselves to death or suicide. The "coloreds" might complain a little at first but they would soon realize that it was for their own good.

Whitey is a racial slur. I assume Whitey means persons of European-American decent, a label given due to skin color. I think what African-American people have endured is horrific, however: I can say that as an Irish-American I am still awaiting an apology for the enslaving of Irish, and Irish-Americans from the British lords, and other Americans of European decent. Irish were forced to be potato farmers, labourors, and workers on the Trans-Atlantic railroad as well as Chinese-Americans, many died while working and were given no apology. Although Irish and other American minorities may not have suffered at the hands of the KKK, suffering is plenty and it seems there is always enough to go around. In my lifetime I have not heard an apology to German-Americans, or Japanese-Americans for being forced out of their homes and made to live in concentration (containment) camps. Native Americans are way overdue for some type of recompensation for what was theirs and taken away, and now numerous natives are forced to live on reservations, how is that for American justice?

I, as a (preconcieved) European-American apologize for the sufferage that African-American peoples went through, however: there are numerous peoples who are awaiting an apology, or acknowlegement and it is doubtful that it will surface. I once learned of an E. Indian-American whom lived during the 18th Century in America, he initially was deemed as not an African-American but was caucasion, later this court rescinded their statement and said, no he was not white, therefore not entitled to the rights of the white man. He later killed himself. It took a long time for women in America to gain any civil rights in the U.S.A., late-coming.

One thing that I so enjoy as being an American citizen is the opportunity, and privilege of attending college. In Africa, as well as India, quite often children are not able to attend school. Only the higher status, and incomed individuals may attend elementary, and further studies. Unless a child can pay for their books, and schooling they are not afforded the chance to succeed. Many obstacles may come in a person's way but he may overcome this.

I do not dispute your claims, some persons will never hear what they want to hear, it is unfortunate.

In addition I will add that I feel one of the greatest tragedies a human being can suffer is poverty. So often a person cannot mover further or progress and that is the biggest tragedy of all.

Regards,
M. in the USA

Whitey has, in fact apologized. He has bent down on his hands and knees, blubbered with massive sobs and copious flowing of tears, beat his chest, torn his garmets, wailed so loudly that the firmament has shaken. He has coiled himself around the leg of every person who look like they or their great great great grandmother might have been enslaved, and subsequently kissed their buttocks a million times over.

Yessir, Whitey is very very sorry.

Now...is Blackey sorry for selling his brethren into slavery to White traders on the West Coast of Africa, sending them on their way toward the coasts with those horrible ships of the Middle Passage?

You ask an absurd question, and lo and behold, I give you an absurd answer!!!!

Who would be the one to apologize for all Caucasian people (if that’s what you meant by “Whitey”)? And who would this person apologize to? And even if we do find these people, parts of those representative groups don't want to be included in the apology, and some don't want to accept the apology. Good luck finding your answer.

Whitey did something more important than apologizing for slavery. Whitey banned it. I think to ban it is much better than merely apologizing for it.

Whitey Herzog should get on the PA the very next time he's at a game and say he's sorry! C'mon, Whitey!

I will not apologize for something I did not do. That being said, you will find no one in the United States that either was a slave or who owned slaves. So your question is not only idiotic, but moot as well. Have the negroes who sold their own people to slave traders been heard to apologize?
