I remember the 1978 World Cup, which was hosted in Argentina. Back then, only 16 teams made it to the World Cup. Argentina beat Holland 3-1 in the final to win their first World Cup. Brazil beat Italy 2-1 to take third place.

Amazingly I do. I graduated from highschool in 1979. Lots was happening in that era.. The Shah of Iran was expelled. Some of the rich Iranian kids were sent to the boarding school that I was going to. I listened to Lynard Skynard, Billy Joel.. etc. I was a Sr in highschool from Aug 78 through June 79. Disco wasn't cool yet. People were still hanging onto the hippie era a bit. I remember the fashions of those days.. big ole fat bell bottoms that covered your shoes.. Waist lines of pants really high.. Not as low as now to where skeletal bones are visual. I'm not sure that anyone from my generation will be able to say they didn't inhale which means to me that very few from my generation will be able to run for president. They'll probably bypass my generation and go to the kids from another era.

Now you're making me feel old. I was 15. My husband was in his first year of college. We were all griping about the price of gas, even though it hadn't hit $1.00/gallon yet. Jimmy Carter was in office, and some of the biggest laughs were about his brother Billy, who marketed "Billy Beer" and his rather opinionated mother Lillian. The Dukes of Hazzard were big on TV, and Saturday Night Live was only about 3 years old. The most trusted person in America was "Uncle" Walter Kronkite, the news anchor. Dan Rathers was still a reporter, as was Barbara Walters. But if you really wanted to know what was going on, you tuned into the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. The Shah of Iran was starting to have problems with extremists in his country. Please don't make me go on reliving it!
