Because it wasn't declared a "war" by the U.S. It was called a "police action", and it is widely considered to be the most forgotten war in U.S. history. My dad is a Korean vet, and he has told me it certainly fit his definition of a war. He was in a foxhole, bullets buzzing by his head, his buddies beside him in the foxhole getting their heads blown clear off Yeah, it fits my definition of a "war" too. If you are talking to a Korean War vet, and you call the war a police action, pardon my language but, be prepared to get your a$$ kicked by a 75 year old man. It was a tough war, mostly fought in below freezing temperatures. Just in the last 5 or 6 years, the U.S. FINALLY built a Korean War Memorial. Don't expect a flashy video game anytime soon. And out of respect for all the people like my dad, read up on the Korean War, and remember their sacrifices as equally as any other veteran of any other war.
