Please explain why (like what are your skills and credentials) you should be paid more than you are right now. Also, please be honest and realistic about this, and don't just say something like, "Oh, i deserve a $100,000 salary" , or anything like that.

that's sort of a funny question. i think the job i do is so brainless that i can't believe i am paid for it, yet i asked for a raise when i found out i wasn't being paid as much as my predecessor.

now, i have re-assessed. i make plenty for what i am doing, because it is enough to get by on, and that is what i needed the job for. and if they paid me more, i would probably feel guiltier when i'm looking for another job.

the way i see it, i am a barnacle. this ship probably doesn't notice me much, and i shouldn't be surprised if i get scraped off... but if i stay put it's my own fault. i can't help but notice that i am responsible for my own journey and how i choose to get there.

what made you ask?

Well I'm the first in a long line of those who've had my job before
me to have actually done the job and do it right. I think that I
should deserve about 10 grand more than I make. I don't have a
starting salary, what I make now I'll be making in 10 years
provided I still work there or have that position.
