When you type an exponent type it like this. r2 is typed r^2
3+9r^2=39
9r^2=36
r^2=4
now you have to unsquare both sides by taking the square root
square root of r^2=square root of 4
therefore
r=2 or -2 because when you square a negative it becomes a positive
now to check put 2 in place of the r
* means times
3+9*2^2=39
3+9*4=39
3+36+39
39=39 this is a true statement so the answer is correct

This is a simple Algebra problem; the answer is 2(also-2). Just subtract 3 from each side giving 9r2=36, then divide both sides by 9 giving r2=4 which any lame brain knows equals r=2(also-2). Since r is usually used to connote radius, I don't believe it is possible to have a -2 radius of a circle.

There are two answers: +2 and -2
Subtract the 3 from both sides, leaving you 9r^2=36,
Divide both sides by 9, leaving you r^2=4,
Take the squareroot of both sides, and there you have it!

9r2 = 36 (subtract 3 from each side)
r2 = 4 (divide both sides by 9)
r = +2 or -2 (take the square root of each side)

subtract 3 from both sides so
9r^2=36
now divide both sides by 9 so
r^2=4
now take the square root of both sides so
r=2 and -2
