thanks for the clarification even though i didn't know that al gore even implied that he invented the internet

This is what he actually said:

"During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet. "

He brought this on himself. He didn't "create" the internet either. Yes, his words were twisted, but he chose them poorly.
