I think it depends on how you are saying it. If you are just using the phrase among friends it is one thing, but if you are being confrontational and trying to start something then it is different. Obviously the term "boy" has a historical connection for blacks that does not exist for other races. But what is said among friends is different than what is said in the moment you are preceding a fight or at least an argument. I use this term with my friends, but only in certain situations where it is a synonym for bro or something of that sort. I would never use it derogitorily. As for being used towards me, it doesn't bother me really, I guess because it lacks thed historical significance. But I have had people get in my face with it, and then I respond appropriately. Most times I think people are just testing you when they do that.

Being a white person myself, I was called all that **** in school, but as soon as I got to the 11th grade. lol sounds stupid... but i fought back against the "White Boy" racist comment. Now i tell people whom say that, what the f**k are you thinking... would you like to be called beaner boy or black boy or asian boy? Didn't think so. White people don't and CAN"T say "Black Boy" to a black person, because we are know for some **** we didn't even do but rather the whites around 100 years ago did, slavery. we will be in big trouble and for what reason. nobody cares about a white persons rights, not to mention feelings either. Every other race puts us down... I'm sick of it.

i don't feel intimidated . I'm not a racist so i don't really watch how i talk to my friends of other color. and if i say something that happens to offend a black guy or girl i just laugh. i mean you know every body says something dumb, but oh well life goes on. like okay i work at a motel as a desk clerk some black dude comes in and asks about the different things to do in the town i live in. well there is a black club in town and i told him about it and he was cool cause he's black and the club was basically all back people.

I wouldn't think it'd be an intelligent thing to do, but while we're on the topic why don't you ever tell your friends to stop calling them white boy or girl, if you know you're right in the fact that it would be condescending to a race of people to do that, why wouldn't you? Do you feel intimidated by your peers?

It is because we know we are not racist, but most occasion where color is brought up an issue is made of it. So the reverse racism has become accepted as the norm and no attention is paid to the comment. Maybe some in the black community could do the same.

Doesn't bother me in the least bit. I'm white and a boy, hence White boy. Its black people that have trouble with it becuase of the history behind being called "boy" even if you were a man. And no black people do not intimidate me.

I think alot of whites dont call blacks boy because we do not want to be accused of being racist. And some blacks would call us that if we did. And why would we want to say black boy if we know the person finds it insulting.

I don't see why, but why do blacks have to use all those funky fords and sayings and try to look cool...becasue it really looks kinda stupid...and also, why can't blacks sound more intelegent, not I am not saying that for all blacks, I am sure there are very intellegent people out there...

also...how come the black/hispanic population of the U.S. is rising - that is soo not fair!
