In the song he says, but "I won't do that," over and over and over again. What won't he do?

According to Mr. Loaf himself, part of the lyrics sung by the woman are 'sooner or later, you'll be screwing around.' Basically, he's saying he would never cheat on her.

I think he is saying that he won't hurt the girl...or leave her or...?
I love that song, but its still a mystery to me, but if you listen to the last two stanzes of the girl part, I think it partly answers the question.
