So many? Smoking among young people is the lowest in history. It's also Darwin in action... the lowest educated smoke and thus will kill themselves out.
New report last week:
Smokers with high school or less = 42 percent
Smokers with college = 14 percent
Smokers with graduate degree = 7 percent

No, smoking is not cool. Young people do it for a lot of reasons. I did, but I quit and it has saved me a ton of money and its healthier too. Cigarette companies do a lot of things to make it look glamorous, there's product placement, where they pay movie producers to show their product. Remember "Titanic" where the male lead smoked so much? He was so cool, and he smoked like a chimney, so the lesson was not lost on guys who wanted to be as cool and as desired by girls as him. It works. Too bad.

I personally don't think that it is. And it disgusts me that my mother smokes. I hate the smell that it causes in the house. And they state that second-hand smoke is worse than if I was doing the smoking myself! I think young people do it for status and/or the peer pressure element.

Ew, no its gross and just plain stupid. Kids do it because they know they arent suppose to so they think they are so cool and rebelious. They will prob. get addicted and then get black gums and rotten teeth, reek, and possibly get lung cancer when they get older. Most are prob. too scared to stand up to the other kids. If they said no and didnt do stupid things like drugs and smoking, I would respect them a lot more.

NONONONONONONONONONONONO smoking is so not cool that stupid people think it is, sorry i hate smoking, I don't hate smokers I just think that they made a really really really bad choice, and if people can win lawsuits against McDonald's for making them fat them I think that we could charge the cigarette companies with murder, at least 100 million accounts a piece and shut them the hell down. GGGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I hate smoking......and think smokers have made at least one really really bad choice in their life time, I mean seriously why do it's suicide suicide SUICIDE and if you believe in god and heaven and hell take a guess were suicide take you, yea that's right HELL.

i smoke and no is not cool, i would strongly recomend to anyone thinking of starting DON'T DO IT.
