when im looking up tabs theres this one:

It's a hammeron, it playing a note then with out re-picking play another note on a higher fret by firmly and quickly fretting a note while the last one is still ringing

The letter "h" means hammer on. Which is to hold your finger on the 10th fret then when you pluck or strum the string use your other finger to hammer down to the 12th fret. It is easier to show than tell but I think there is a demo of this on www.guitar tab universe.com

it means hammer on which is that u have ur finger on the 10th fret and put another finger on the 12th fret while the string is still viberating creating a hammer sound

Hammer on, baby. If your index finger is on the 10th fret, you hammer down with your ring finger without picking the string.
