Historically Jewish people were the first to see thepotental of Hollywood. So yes, they have a big presence there.
Greeks also have a big presence there.
It is a question of where you want to risk your money and can you write. It is strictly a coincidence abotu the writing.
As for the Catholics, they are just too easy to pick on. They have the Exorcism and the and the Pedophiles and you name it. If it weren't for Catholics the Vampires would rule the world. Writers are just taking advantage of all the rumors and legends the Catholics have in their history.

Did you know that the best seemingly anti-Semetic jokes are told by Jews? I kid you not. If anyone else told them, they's be Jew-haters. But Jewish people get away with it. Gene Weingarten, a Washington Post humor columnist, addressed this phenomenon recently in one of his online chats:

I don't think they hate catholics, they just have other believes. remember, Jews was expecting someone to save them from the political and economical oppression. When Jesus appeared, they thought it was him, the one capable to save them from that. But Jesus salvation was different, he wanted to save souls. That's why they don't believe in Jesus, Catholics do.
If they run Hollywood?...., well,....many of them do have lots of money!
