Yes, I would say that barring any other problems with your reproductive system, once you get this straightened out, you should be on your way to getting pregnant. But to start with, it sounds very certain that you are right on the cusp of developing secondary amenorrhea, a term used to describe a condition in which a women who menstruated in the past fails to have periods for at least three months. However, what I am unsure about is whether it could be your dieting that contributed to this. It's very interesting because at first glance I was ready to shout "stop the diet!!" but upon further inspection I am not so sure. Here's why. While dieting can in fact lead to amenorrhea if it causes you to lose too much body fat, it would not appear that you set out to lose more than a reasonable amount of weight, perhaps with the goal of getting back in pre-pregnancy shape. Whatever the case, if your body fat dropped to a percentage below that which it needs to produce estrogen, this could have caused you to stop menstruating. Much more could be said about the relation between body fat and fertility, but a book called “Female Fertility and The Body Fat Connection” will provide more than enough information.
While this is one possible explanation, the thing that strikes me is that your periods ended abruptly after your diet began, leading me to wonder if any previous changes could have been the trigger. After all, changes in one’s body don’t just happen overnight. For this reason, I’m lead to suspect that the connection between a different hormone and its affect on fertility is at play here. I’m sure you know of the connection between breastfeeding and infertility. Well, I would be very curious to know if you have ever breastfed your son. If at some point you had increased his feedings after your period returned postpartum, the increase in prolactin levels this would have caused could have halted menstruation once again. This is a somewhat complex topic, so if you want to learn more I’d suggest a book called “Breastfeeding and Natural Child Spacing: How Natural Mothering Spaces Babies”. While this book addresses a goal directly opposing your current goal of achieving pregnancy, if you were in fact breastfeeding when your menses ceased, I think it would prove very helpful for your situation.
I truly hope that whatever the cause for the disruption in your menstrual cycle, you will be able to discover its cause and add to your family soon.

congrats on the weight loss - but I think that is why you haven't had your period. If you lose a lot, it can change/mess up your cycle. Also, if you lose too much, you won't get your period. I forget what it is called, but there is a condition when you don't have enough body fat and your body stops ovulating, etc. Slow down the diet and check in with your doctor. Good luck!
Would you mind tell me how you lost the weight? I am looking to lose some and would love to know what worked so well for you - if you don't mind.

Slow down on the weight loss, by the way, would love to know how you achieved it. Then get an ovulation predictor, the saliva kit works well. Then, as a Mom already you know what the rest of the process is. Good luck.
