I know of many people who have taken 'plan b' sum ppl think pregnancy starts @ the moment of conception, others believe it happens @ a later stage. So is 'plan b' a form of abortion?

Emergency contracteption is not abortion. It works the same way a regular birth control pill would work, only faster. If your egg is already fertilized, it won't do anything. It only causes the sperm and egg to not come together successfully. It won't terminate a pregnancy, only prevent it if it hasn't already started. (I'm a pro-lifer, in case you were wondering)

A ton of fertilized egg never implant the mom never knows she was pregnant 4 a short time. This is thought to happen pretty often. Also in IVF 2 or 3 viable fertilized eggs will be put into the womb a high % will not implant that is why they use 2 or 3 even 4 to try to get one to take ....is that murder/abortion when they don't take? it was a created life that was wasted. I think the morning after pill is better then doing a d&c later i feel it's only the pregnant women choice to make not yours mine the goverment or the chruch.

we had someone ask this very question at work(Pharmacy)a few weeks ago. Conception can happen within a few minutes up to 3 days after sex. if you conceive within the time period that you go to the doctor also within that same 72 hour period, and get the Plan B, then t is techinically an abortion. The pill will stop it. As far as it being murder, that is up to you and what you believe.

It halts fertilization so it isn't considered a from of abortion. Since it is only effective within the first 72 hours before the fetus forms. As for ricardocoav's question. It is only considered murder if the fetus could have survived outside of the womb, or within 27 weeks. Of course the law differs from state to state.

That is a tough one to ask, and you are gonna catch alot of heck for touching on this topic...In my personal opinion I do believe that it can be a form of abortion. If you lets say take that pill 48hrs after, and you did get pregnant your body has already begun supporting that little life...I also believe that one should be responsible for their actions, ie: You go have unprotected sex you KNOW that you can get pregnant, well you messed up now live with the consequences or put it up for adoption...there are alot of people who can't have kids.

i'm 2 months pregnant and I have no idea what plan b is, but, if it means abortion, then of course it's murder!! ok, check it out: at 6 weeks (2 weeks ago) I had a ultrasound and I SAW and HEARD my baby's HEARTBEAT. I DARE anyone to tell me, oh, it's just a fetus, it's jusf a wad of tissue. I'll look you in your eye and tell you "You're a liar and a fool"
Of course life starts at the very SECOND of conception. when the sperm meets the egg.

how could we enforce a law of abortion on people that had there own laws .
if you ban something you drive it under ground it will still happen but it will be far more dangerous .

Plan B only halts fertilization, if the egg is already fertilized and growing then it isn't effective. That is why you HAVE to take it within 72 hours, it is meant for "the morning after" hence the name.

only to the religious right. Actually, fertilized fetus's fail to implant all the time. Plan b if for emergencies, it is not birth control, and should never be denied.
