I open the window then ten minutes later and i can count at least 12! all shapes and sizes, some as black as they get and others albeno white!
So what's with em?
why doe they do that thing, ye know, bomb dive for the light til?
And where they all go through the day?
I actually quite like my strange little friends, though is it cruel to kick em back outside? do they stand a better chance of survival inside or outside?
And is it true about moths eating ya clothes uh?

They are attracted to light. So they will keep bashing themselves into it forever.
They do eat your clothes so watch out.

I personally am terrified of moths. I know their tiny and they don't bite, but they always seem to fly toward my face, which totally freaks me out. They do eat clothes and probably even the upholstery off of furniture. If you open a window put a screen in it. If you want to play with them, go outside and site by the porch light. If you want to get rid of them, do not use moth balls as they are poisonious, expecially to children and animals. An alternative is cedar chips, spray, or oil. It repels moths and many other insects naturally.

STUPID horrible fluffy thick bodied, random flying, cursed creatures. What's with them. It would be ok if they flew predictably from one place to another, but the DON'T. They fly randomly around you.
I don't like to kill them so I have to turn off the light in my bedroom and turn on the light in the hall and then try to usher them out.
Once, one landed on the TV and I was too scared to go near it... so I turned off the TV with the remote, turned on the light in the hall and then tried to wave a newspaper to create a wind and make it fly towards the light. After spending about 15 minutes doing this I discovered it had died.
Grrrr
I'm in Leeds too :o)

best solution:
close window (keeps em outside)
put light source outside, up high (u can watch them if that amuses ya) the bats will have food aplenty
do check under carpets and closets for infestations of moths, they can be very destructive

I feel your pain, brother. The moths also take a massive refuge in my room at night. Sometimes they fly in circles, then dead-drop to the carpet. They dive-bomb me in my sleep. I've taken to talking to them...sometimes I yell at them. Make them go away.

If moths love the light so much, why do they only come out at night, hey?
