There are several ways to hit a baseball further.

1. Increase strength - Work out the muscles directly related to a baseball swing.

2. Increase Bat Speed - Easiest to do. During the off-season, have your son swing a regular bat 25 times, then a weighted bat 25 times, then a light bat 25 times. Repeat that 4 times a week.

3. See a hitting trainer and perfect your son's swing. A simple adjustment to a swing (like opening the hips up at the right time) can add lots of distance to a batted ball.

I'd recommend a little of all 3 for the best results, but I'd also recommend that your son work more on hitting line drives than home runs. A home run that falls short is an easy out most times, a line drive that falls similarly short can still roll to the fence and be a double.

I would say just start lifting weights to get the arm strength to knock the ball out of the bigger ball parks.

Well you can work out or do some funemetal work. But all you have to do is practice, practice, practice and you will get better and better as you go and another thing, baseball isnt about hitting homeruns (No offence)

Drill into your butt a needle with a vitamin B+....according to Palmerio or was that Bonds....anyways you get the needle(point)....right???.......seriously...just tell him to keep working on his bat speed....at 13 years old it is to early to really worry about it....keep practicing and let nature take its course......encourage him but don"t push him......some of our better high school players were just average when that age....give him time.....if he is going to be a "Mickey Mantle"....he"ll be there when its time!!

Well a good thing is to buy one of those machines that 'pitch' for you, and he can practice agianst those. But hte best thing to do to improve arm strnegth is actually self pitching, because that requires faster reflexes, and quicker arm swings. THis also improves aim.

best thing to do is go back to the basics...hitting off a tee or soft toss
