impossible to answer that. What kind of a horse? An Arabian, Saddlebred, Quarter horse, Thoroughbred, Shire and Paso are all horses but vary WIDELY on weight. An 1800# or 2000# Arabian would be just as bad as a 900# shire - grossly out of condition if not impossible to achieve. A 1500# horse that's 16.2 hands is MUCH different than a 1500# horse that's 14.2 hands.

if u want a well -conditioned horse then u want 2 be able 2 easily feel the ribs, but not see them. there should be a layer of fat around the tail head. the withers should be round and blend in with the rest of the body. Sorry but unless u know what the horse looks like u cant tell how much it should weigh.

The weight varies greatly depending on the breed of horse. here are some examples.
An average quarter horse weighs about 1100 to 1300 pounds.
A percheron weighs about 1500 to 2300 pounds.
A shetland pony can weigh as little as 500 pounds.
Hope this answered your question.

depends on his size and his health. On average, a pony should weigh from 300 lbs to about 800 lbs. A light horse will weigh from abou 800-1500. A draft horse should weigh 1200-2500. It depends on the breed, how much muscle they have, their gender, and their size.

If its a purebreed, ask the person you got it from. A good way to see if it's underweight is when you can see bone structure. Go to a library or online and find out what the general weight of the horse is supposed to be, each horse is different in size as well as with their weight.

Depends on the breed - usually under 2,000 lbs if you are talking about a "riding" horse...draft horses are larger 2,000 lb plus. It is better to look at their "barrel" or stomach - how far does it stick out on either side, and their crest (topline of their neck) - it should not have a lot of fat accumulated - rounding it...hard to explain - it comes with experience...

As an example- I have quite a stocky thoroughbred who is 15.1 hh high, and she weighs about 490kg. This should give you an idea.
