Boy, that's a tough one. I love all animals. I have a cat, some bunnies and some fish, hopefully soon, hamsters! I would love a dog, just haven't gotton one yet, just bought a house. Anyway...depends when you will be home. I thinks cats are best if you aren't home a lot. They can do fine on their own for a while. But dogs need a lot more attention. So if your home more often, dogs are great!

Do you live alone? In a city? Or do you have a house with a big back yard?
Cats are great for the city, they don't need to go outside and they don't get as lonely during the day- they're independent by nature.
Dogs are great for a house with a yard. Don't coop up a dog, no matter how small, inside- it needs to have the freedom to run around and "relieve" itself whenever it wants to.
Think of where and how you live. Can you handle having a dog in the city? Who will walk it? Can you afford a dogwalker? What if the dog goes to the bathroom in your new Steve Madden boots? Are you home often to keep your dog company?
If you answer no to any of those, don't get a dog. If you're never home, then don't bother with any pet- that'd be neglect.

Well, if you want better pet, would depend on how much time you can give to your pet. If you are always away, a cat is a better pet to have. Don't have to worry about taking it out for walks. But if you can spend time with your pet, a dog is a great companion. They are loveable, loyal to their owners, and are overall awesome! Granted I had a cat, and I basically treated him like a dog, b/c I wanted a dog. I taught him tricks and stuff, a lil harder than a dog, but still got him to do things.

If you are more independent and hang around the house, a cat is a good companion.
If you are an outside person who loves to camp, hike, etc, a dog is a good companion.
It really just depends on your lifestyle, for which species is the best pet for you.

Definetly a CAT! A cat is easier to take care of, no walking required and no poop to run around and clean after. Plus they are self-cleaning, don't have a strong odor like dogs do and are softer to the touch! :)

Cats r cute & furry. They also save lives. But... I'd pick dog 'cause they're more loyal and friendly. Dogs r more commonly known 2 save lives.

That is hard, for i have had both. THey both are equally affectionate in their own ways. DOgs tend to want belly rubs and wag their tail. Cats will rub themselves against you. Depends on your personality. I love them both, but since i have had more dogs and have had them longer I tend to lean more towards them. In general, it just depends on what you're looking for. An animal taht will cuddle with you when you're sad or an animal that will jump up in your lap and rub themselves against you purring.
