First of all Cheap and Chicago don't belong in the same sentence. That being said, the Cass Hotel, 640 N Wabash is an o.k. place to stay. It's an older hotel, but clean and reasonable. They advertise "Downtown without the Downtown Price." The reservation number is: 1-800-227-7850. A single should be in the range of $89 per night. It is within walking distance of most clubs. The art institute is a medium walk, and a long walk is the Natural History museum. The Planetarium and Aquarium are close to the History meuseum. The meuseum of Science and Industry is a cab ride. Check out: www.casshotel.com for info on the hotel and close by venues. The "Magnificent Mile" N. Michigan Ave is a good place to shop, and watch people. Try a boat ride on the lake. They board from the river at Michigan Ave. The skyline is fantastic.

If you're driving your own car here, I recommend the Clarion Hotel Barcelo. It's somewhere around $60-70 a night and has free parking. It's a bit north of the city, up by the O'Hare airport, but the El blue line is right there for you to ride downtown... maybe a half hour ride, but worth it for the money you will save in parking. My inlaws always stay there when we don't have room in our home for them; it works out really well.

I recommend checking out Tripadvisor's travel reviews. I always use them to try and figure out what works best for me. With that said, what is your price range? It would be easier for me to help you out with a price limit in mind :D

Here are some hotels with the 100-200 price range

Crown Plaza is # 6 on Tripadvisor reviews--looks like it's about 150 for a room...

attempt this 101Sukhumvit. My acquaintances were there and they love the position. it is in a secure section close to Emporium (between the most luxury shooping mall in thailand) , good surrounding next to Benja Siri Park and obviously at Sukhumvit street the position you could bypass everywhere by technique of Sky practice, Subway. this is a form of inner most boutique motels/serviced condominium, small yet astounding. vendors designed it by technique of themself!! extremely astounding. From Airport you could bypass there by technique of taxi or airport link (connect with sky practice). examine their internet website for ingredient.
