If you don't want to drop the tank you can cut about a 10 x 10" square in the bed above where the pump is with tin snips.Then order some sheetmetal from JCWhitney and rivet it to cover the hole.That's what I did twice(2 tanks), but I have an older F150,and it was about 10 degrees at the time, so I didn't care.

its in the gas tank so you can drop it out of the truck or take the bed off ( bed off is easier) then you remove the lock ring and lift out the pump. make sure your battery is disconnected or it could get ugly....
