mac is for kids, and professionals and ppl with especific taste like video editing, really. windows is for everyone nuff said. Depends what you need it for.1 gaming? 2. work? 3. internet surfing? 4. 3D operations(cad cam)? If you need (1) u need 128video card at least Nvidia works best with games, and 70+GBHD, 512 ram atleast, LCD screen is Best over HD-TV and DHTV and Plasma, toshibas satellite lap tops are a good buy and run about $600+ for some of the specs avobe.(2) 32video card, 60GBHD, 256Ram, LCD screen, most lap top name brands have these specs. 3. same as (2). (4) 256ram video, Nvidea, Ati is good, 100GBHD, 1GBram(1,024mb), Lcd is always best, and these specs speak for them selfs, if u can find a lap top with these specs, be ready to pay over $1,500.
MY lap top is Toshiba Satttelite, Duo Proces, 2.8GB processor. 512 ram, 64Video ram shared ATI graphics, 60GBHD. Mine lags just alil when playing some games, its great on Internet surfing, and work operations. good luck

Personally (if I could stomach the price) I would take the new Toshiba Qosimo, that can play HD-DVD. But yes it depends on what your going to use it for. Ask your nearest computer distributor (store)

well I bought an apple powerbook g4 12 inch and I love it and use it everyday. Unfoirtunitaly they don't make it anymore, but the new intal macs are just as good

dell inspiron model it does everything a highend laptop can do, i own one it cost a lot less than
the other models wi fi, dvd, cd, i wouldn't trade
mine for no other computer because i've become
to learn its fuctionality and system requirements
i'ts my learning tool it's my first laptop and i
love it !!!

go for the MacBook Pro, if you have the money.
I personally don't like Windows; the Apple operating system is incredible!!!
