I've been looking for a career that I can enjoy and actually do at the same time, I'm planning on going to college to be a paralegal, but I am not sure that is the field I want to be in. I don't just want to pick something for the sake of it. I looked at the paper and saw graphic design and I thought that would be really cool but hard work, but I am not sure about the job market and exactly were a graphic designer might work?

Graphic Design is an excellent field to get into. It is actually listed as one of best careers to enter right now. With the internet and media booming as it is, it is predicted that graphic designers will be in even higher demand in future years. A degree in graphic design takes anywhere from two to four years depending on where you take it. It is a very demanding course load with a steep learning curve. You learn a lot of different programs in a very short time and it consists of lots of projects with tight deadlines but it's also a lot of fun. I graduated with honors and I had never touched a computer before I started classes, it's just a matter of applying yourself and keeping organized. You also learn web design, animation, photography, writing, free hand drawing and painting, etc. As a result a lot of doors are opened to you other than strictly graphic design. The course will prepare you for jobs in printing, design, past-up work, layout artist, sign companies, publishers, newspapers, magazines, large corporations and working for the government, to name a few employers. There is tons of work out there if you market yourself. Self employment is an option that a large number of designers take too. The work itself is very enjoyable and rewarding and the pay is very good. ( like anything else the pay rate fluxuates depending on where you are ) I know in western Canada a lot of the companies are paying $40 to $50 an hour to start. You can easily make that if you are a successful entrepeneur. Hope this helps you a bit. If you are a creative person you can't find a better job. Good luck in your future endeavours.
please excuse spelling errors...spell check not working.

don't worry about the money you'd be making. at the moment i'm ending my portraits layout significant, in spite of the indisputable fact that, I doubt i'd be continuing that route because it isn't any longer my interest. i'm taking a 365 days off to only imagine and ascertain what i am going to do, and that i'd be operating as a picture fashion designer to ascertain if it is as undesirable as i presumed it became. Now once you're already drawing, goofing round in photoshop or in spite of, and also you understand that you want it and each and everything that orbits it, then bypass ahead. in the different case, do not difficulty. each and each and every of the individuals i understand who've succeeded in picture layout are those who breathe, devour and sweat picture layout. I used to debris round round with it, it truly is a cool activity and all, yet i doesn't be in a position to make a living off it, specially because of continuous rigidity (tight cut-off dates), the superficiality of it, being the customer's "slave" and so on. Now on the positive aspect, the interest is distinct so that you get to analyze distinctive distinct matters (better or a lot less exciting), and also you improve your creativity. To sum it up, if you're not from now on gifted, everyday, are not into the completed company existence style and/or don't have the interest, do not difficulty. in case you delight in it today and do artsy stuff on your spare time and performance been doing it continually (which I actual have, yet found out it is only a activity), bypass ahead. My classmates that excel contained in the section are picture layout nuts who do not bypass out to activities with us and stay in college all day doing that sort of ingredient and that i'm positive they are going to do fantastic and get good money.
