It is a gold colored coin that is made of brass. It is not real and worthless.
It was made by a private mint in the UK I think but I know little else try eBay they occasionally sell for less then a dollar.

Sounds like some kind of commemorative coin. Is it made out of aluminum? If so I believe it was a premium from some Gas Station Franchise in the 1970s.
