In need to clarify: My question should not offend, it is just a question. Some quesions are posed to get folks thinking about things...other questions are to find out attitudes about certain subjects.

Absolutely!! I'm sober 18 years, and I've been able to have so much more fun in life than I could have imagined possible. I've traveled to places I only dreamed of, met some of the most phenominal people, laughed & cried...sometimes at the same time. Music sounds better. Food tastes better. I can remember where I've been and what I've seen and done. I have never been arrested for drunk driving while sober, thrown up in public while sober, had the roof of my mouth sunburned while sober, lost my car while sober, or asked to go home from my job because I smelled like beer while sober. What I used to think of fun really wasn't the kind of fun that I can have today. I'm so grateful that I not longer live a life which was doom and gloom, paranoid and afraid. When I'm sober, I'm not in the grip of a chemical which is telling me how to behave, what to think or feel.

If you're thinking of getting sober, or think you might have a problem with drinking or drugs, it's hard to imagine that life can be so fantastic without them. Note, I say "it can be", but just because I quit doesn't mean that I will be struck "wonderful" nor will it be fun all the time. There will be an adjustment period, but if you can get through that, hopefully with the support of other people around you who are trying to do the same thing, you'll fine that it can be just as fabulous for you too. It takes some work, willingness, openmindedness and lots of honesty to change, but IT IS ALL WORTH IT!

No. I'm a clean and sober person and I make it a point (and go out of my way) to lead a dull boring life.

I like to wake up early in the morning, go to work, and then come home to sleep. What else is there?

yes they do I've been clean for almost 20 yrs . i have done every drug that there is up to this time . fun only amounts to the good times those times are anytime that holds a special place in your heart . the only change is that when your clean you remember that those are the good times and that you did have fun . these good times are what gets you through the bad times . you become more willing to to be a part of those good times and the bad times are not so bad .

Sure do! I don't drink at all (I'm 25) and I love to go dancing with my friends! I enjoy life sober. Its a lot more fun when you remember what actually happened.

I do. I go listen to live music all the time, and have gone to parties where I was the "designated driver", and still have fun even though I'm not drinking. Plus, it's fun to sit and make fun of the drunk people who have beer goggles on.

well hell yes....i've been clean for 12 years and don't regret a minute of it....being clean and sober is alot cheaper and a better way of life no matter who you are or what people think or say....stay clean and sober...if you're not...get that way...you'll like yourself a whole lot better...

Of course, my question is why do you need to drink to have fun?
What is missing in your life that drinking fixes?
