I have alot of VHS tapes that I want to record over to DVD. Are the recorders as good as they are advertised?

Yes they work very well infact. I have had no problems with mine.

if you think your dvd creations will look as good as a purchased dvd then you'll be disappointed.
If you just want to transfer them, it should work fine.
Remember that a dvd is capable of much higher quality than a tape so going from tape to dvd will produce a tape quality dvd because the additional info used in the dvd movie is not there in the tape.

Well a VCR to DVD is only going to be as good as the VCR tape. it works best DVD-DVD recording!

yes you will be happy that you recorded your moves from vhs to dvd the recored tapes will lock just like the picture you taped from the vhs movieyou won't be sorry you did it .

The one I have is pretty Darn good... I was really surprised how well it works when I first used it.
