Jimmy Carter's negotiations have led to Israel and Egypt ending their hostilities many years ago. That didn't break down with Bush in office.

They didn't.

I do have to say that it is notable that none of the major Arab nations have gotten involved.

Because the PM of Israel who Clinton worked with was assassinated by an Israeli. It's a saga that has roots deeper than just Clinton....many have tried before and will continue to try, but the palestinians have been offered statehood many times and have rejected the coexistence of Israel.

For the people below who criticized Clinton on North Korea....actually it was Jimmy Carter who negotiated with them, and that should tell you something.

That's the problem. Clinton's negotiations didn't work with the Palestinians, North Koreans or anyone else. Bush is just cleaning up the mess.

Because Clinton's no longer running the show. We've got a lose cannon in the Oval Office that thinks everything can be settled with enough guns and ammo. Don't think for a minute that the kidnapping of three men was just happenstance; chances are good that Bush was behind it! -RKO-

Because the Palestinians don't keep their word except when it comes to blowing things up.

Jimmy carter negotiated stuff -- didn't stick
Frankly, not sure about Bush I, Reagan but I'm sure they tried stuff too.

btw-- Bush hasn't ANYTHING yet on this since he's been in office.

HELLLLLLLLLO...............last time i looked Clinton has been gone 6 years, Bush's plans have never included diplomacy. We have an over grown juvenile in the Oval Office and a potty mouthed Vice who delighted in telling elected Representatives to GO F THEMSELVES in the United States House of Representatives. What do you expect!

Cause Iran thinks that the US is too busy with Iraq and the terrorists to assist anyone else... What these asssholes don't know, is that we are America, we multitask- we can bomb 5 different countries at the same time!
Plus Bush is a mentally defective prick!

The Israelis gave up Gaza which was part of Clinton's compromise. Hamas blew the peace talk and GWB who should have been on top of the situation diplomatically dropped the ball as usual.
