Well he honestly did say it, though I really think it was more of a metaphor.
Once you look at the people that he was speaking to, a Jewish group, and then you factor in the Clinton factor. What he was really saying was probably more like:
personally i don't know how to hold a rifle, I'm used to my associates being on their knees so i can't get in a ditch, i have no backbone so i won't fight, and sooner or later i will die, but it will not be for Israel, now thank you for voting for me and supporting me, I have to go now and think of the next lie to tell to the Muslim's I'm meeting with later this week.
