My original cell phone had a great battery life and I always ran it right down before recharging it.
It has something to do with the 'memory' in the batteries. ie: if you charge it from half full it will remember that as being full.
I tried to let my new phone run all the way down before recharging and let it charge all the way before unplugging it and at first i had great battery life. now it's not so good after pulling power early and charging while it still had bars.
so in the end let it run right down and charge it right up and your battery can last several years.

The best way to get longevity from a rechargeable cell or battery is to fully discharge it before fully recharging it.

It's all up to you. Usually I recharge my phone every night, without it, I can spend three or four days without recharge, and still have up to 4 bars.

On most cell phones, the maker recommends running the battery down before charging. I charge mine evernight, because I need it everyday. If you don't use it very often, you can let it run down before charging it. If you use it frequently, it's almost impossible to wait untill its completley dead!
