Give them a tadpole and show them how to feed and care for it. Then wait until it turns into a frog.

Or just tell them that tadpoles are "baby frogs".

A tadpole is just the young version of a frog, like a caterpillar is a young version of a butterfly or a baby is a young version of a Rock Star. This should be obvious

Actually, a tadpole is not technically amphibious until it reaches the stage where it develops legs and crawls on land. A tadpole is, for all intents and purposes a fish until it develops air breathing lungs. Thus, a tadpole is not an amphibian.
