bill -- pop art wouldn't make money and therefore wouldn't be "pop" if we stopped buying it.

Yes, I think that pop culture should be down played atleast a little because of the fact that America needs to develop a sense of true culture and pride I mean when Americans are asked what their culture and where the come from is they might say American but people ask no really what are you?! Does that not say something about or culture, we barely have any! America focuses too much on things like Paris Hilton and other celebrities don't get me wrong I like celebrities and Paris, but should we be waiting on them hand and foot and hanging of their every action like we do?!

Paris Hilton receives a lot of media attention. She is not popular culture. She's a celebrity. She runs in celebrity circles and gets lots of photos taken of her like all the other celbs.

Some folks get a kick out of reading all the celeb info. Those folks are the bread and butter of the media.

I'd say that Americans in general are too busy living life and making a living to give a big flip about the world of celebrities.

Paris Hilton didnt make herself popular.... her grandfathers money did. the only reason shes so all over the place is beacause she puts herself in those positions.... we dont do anythign to make her popular....ok, maybe we assist in doing this by going to see her movies or buying her cd but she did it to herself.

Art, like beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think you are envious of Paris Hilton and it is not my fault.

there is nothing wrong with americas art today. but as far as paris hilton goes... holy ****. who gave her a record deal? one day she is a little rich *****, and now she is a skinnny pale actress who likes getting it in the forehead, and a windbag on stage taking her cloths off.
Other then spending rediculas amounts of money, all she can do is take off her clothing. she is talentless and a waste of human, shame on god's part for making her so ******* stupid.

i in my opinion adore the call Harriet - i think of that's an extremely lovable and spunky call. considered one of my well known authors is Dorothy L. Sayers, and Harriet Vane is the heroine/love activity of her Lord Wimsey secret novels. Harriet Vane is an smart, complicated, passionate, smart and witty woman, and to me that's what i think of of while i think of of Harriet. There are additionally many good, self sufficient women from history referred to as Harriet, inclusive of Harriet Martineau and Harriet Tubman. So there are some magnificent namesakes. the place I stay that's amazingly usual too, notwithstanding no longer as usual as in the united kingdom - that's a precise 2 hundred call. (approximately two times as usual as Isla). i think of that's in many circumstances going to warfare slightly in the U. S. via fact human beings have a tendency to pronounce it HAYR-ee-ut. until eventually i found out that, I questioned why I saved getting the remark "appears like bushy it!" i became into rather prepared on the toddler call Harriet Alice, which i think of is an exceedingly candy call, yet my husband quashed it via saying it sounded unfeminine and too previous type. He reported if i needed a T-ender with a center call beginning with A, I could %. Violet Angelina rather. considering then, he has named 2 puppy birds Harriet and Alice just to make beneficial i won't have the ability to apply them! besides, i'm rambling ... i think of Harriet is a splendidly magnificent call that any one could be fortunate to have, yet I do experience various opposition from others.

What people think is art is subjective. "Pop culture" appeals to the average and the average population is sub-intellectual.
