Canada is listed as one of the top countries to live in, yet 40,000 Canadians are presently in Lebanon. Is this a great place to go for a holiday? What's the attraction?

Canada's population is only 32,000,000. that means 1/800 of Canada's population is there? Does this make sense?

That is a good question. Have they gone home for training or visits? I wonder at the wisdom of these people.

There are an estimated 40,000 Canadians living in Lebanon, but only 16,000 are registered with the Canadian officials./ I have no idea maybe they retired there.
Are you by chance Canadian. If you think about it there are alot of Americans living in Israel. May be this isn't a war between Israel and Lebanon but Canada and the US.

yes this is crazy and i think a lot of people in canada are asking the same question. canada is a great place but we have a very weak goverment and im sure this is just another form of abuse to the system

They work for various companies with offices in Lebanon and the region.

Lots of people travel or work there....and many visit family from their homeland. I for one would have not put my self in such danger ( I would have at least tried to get away from the border cities), once this situation started to escalate.

It's a nice place. And most of them are dual citizens.
