Hi i have a problem the boot release handle on the floor of the car to the right of the drivers foot does not open it boot i think it is something to do with the boot release mechanism. Can somebody please help?

go here and ask them they are dead helpful sorted one or 2 issues i had with my rover 25

Might be the cable thats broken.
Or maybe its stretched.
Pull the lever at the side of drivers seat and see if you get any movment at the boot end (with lid open)

A new cable is £17 fitting is dead easy just disconnect from either end pull thrugh from boot end and slide new one back through then just adjust to make sure it pulls just right, goog luck

cost you more to buy a new cable and have it fitted than the car is probably worth,Cheaper to just put your key in the lock to open the boot.
