I probably would because I like stories that happened long, long ago. Though it was somewhat overused in the past, it is somewhat classic and I like it.

Long, long ago I might have read something like that.

It doesn't matter how a story begins (at least not the first sentence). It matters how much it still holds my attention after a full page.

Not if it was copying off of "Star Wars." But stories often start with, "A long time ago," like in "Little House On the Prairie," which was published before "Star Wars."

I'd laugh at the beginning line and the simplicity and duplicity of it...and continue...hoping it would be better as it went along, than the phrase which started it!
