I would strictly not advise using a humidifier in a warm room. In the Summer, (unless you live in a desert climate), you will always have humidity in a house..(trees and all the plants put out a lot of it, plus rain puts humidity in the air), and if you run a humidifier, you will put so much moisture out into the air, that you will have MOLD growing in the walls!!
Now, if you get "that" condition..then you have major health problems! Lung conditions, headaches, heart conditions and all sorts of things associated with mold, sometimes, even to the point of Death!
So, DO NOT run a humidifier in the Summer time, run it only in the Winter, when you "suck out" all the moisture from the air, with a gas or electric furnace, or dry heat.
I wish you well..

A humidifirer does not dehumidifie unless it has a setting to do so , a humidifier adds moisture to a room , If your area is any thing like it is here you dont need any more humidity ! A dehumidifirer does however remove moisture , but it will not cool a room ! You need an air conditioner for that !

A humidifier will not cool a room. It will in fact make it hotter. The heat from the motor will add heat to the room and the extra humidity will make it feel warmer yet.

A humidifier as such is not cooling the room.
In the contrary, the more humid the environment is, the hotter you seem to feel at any given temperature.
In fact you rather want to have a de-humidifier when it's hot.

be careful when you use one in a small room. I did that once and the wood swelled making it difficult to open the windows at a later date, which in turn made the room warmer because I couldn't open it to make bring in some cool air.

it doesn't cool a room because it doesn't blow cold air but it does dehumidify so it will feel cooler only because it wont be humid it might still be warm tho but not be sweaty sauna-like & gross because it will take away the humidity.
