Tough one. Wherever you can have a measure of peace and quiet to hear yourself think. Not somebody else!

As they say it is the neighbour's wife that attracts you even if your spouse may be much, much better. Your wife is there before you always with her warts and all whereas the neighbour's wife keeps them consealed and you can see only the 'seeable' portion of her. This is due to too close proximity. We had an unwritten law in our young to send missus and children(usually to her home . When she returned she looked all the more alluring(never mind she had put on some weighg). That is the trouble with you. You have stayed too long at one place. Since you cannot send your town on a tour you yourself go out . Whlle you may enjoy the change, as you should, the call of the native place will become increasingly louder. On your return you would find your own house, your neighbourers(not just their wives) all the more attractive.Of course if you have to leave your place on business or employment it is all right but do come back. The nativity is harking you back mutely. My heart goes out to our NRIs who make out a great show of USA but I cannot help seeing the envy in their eyes for us who stayed on.This is what patriotism is all about. Not just the hoisting the tricolour and lustily reciding the national anthem. In USA you would notiice the name of various towns and cities are repetitions of names from the old world. That is a pathetic attempt of those condemned to stay out to delude themselves that they are home.

If no kids then I say South Florida. The weather is great. Rarely have an ugly day even in rainy season. There's a lot of opportunity and the growth is still solid. There are many different types of housing (housing on islands and between beach and intercoastal vulnerable to hurricane flooding - my neighborhood didn't lose power in Andrew). The night life is stupendous. It's easy to have a wonderful garden that grows by leaps and bounds. It's easy to go years without having any major sickness.
