Have you ever moved to anyplace, been there a year and made NO friends on account of the people there?

I moveed to a city in Ohio...it has been a difficult year for me...Cancer and Kindey stones..and not one persn to phone when in the hospital....they all fell short.....well things are changing for me, am about to get evicted, BUT someone IS coming through for me and they do not even live here....what is the best thing that I could do for them..somethng really nice.....I have been here thru a cold winter, and it is now 92 degrees in my room....yes I am in a lot of pain...BUT...appreciation goes to those who have helped me. Not one person has come thru for me here..and I will tend the matters at hand. I live VERY modestly....please tell me what yu think. Am I greatful? YES!

BTW it is the second time with Cancer and stones at th4 same time...and yur answers are making me believ in human nature at its best again...i am nearly in tears......

i have been on both sides i now know what its like to be avoided because i have done it now i am getting what i gave. but i have my wife coming through for me. hope your someone comes through for you.

I will tell you that the older you are, the least likely people be friendly to you. I live in Northwest Indiana and have a small place in florida. I have been here in florida for one month and other than sales people, no one in the condo complex even tries to talk to me. Yet, young people can and do make friends all of the time.
