WELL EVERY MODEL NEEDS A PORFOLIO. YOU CAN EITHER GET A FRIEND TO TAKE SOME PICTURES OF YOU OR GET IT PROFESSIONALLY DONE. THEN SEARCH FOR SOME AGENCIES IN YOUR AREA. SEND YOUR PICS TO SOME AGENCIES. YOU CAN GO TO YAHOO SEARCH TO FIND AGENCIES NEAR YOU. SOMETIMES SCOUTS WILL COME TO YOUR AREA TO FIND TALENT. YOU CAN GO TO THEIR OPEN CASTING CALL. IF YOU WANT TO GO THE EASY WAY YOU CAN GET AN ONLINE PORFOLIO. FOR CHEAP OR FREE! HERE ARE SOME WEBSITES-
www.starsearchcasting.com
www.instantcast.com
www.models.com
www.onemodelplace.com
I HOPE YOU BECOME SUCCESSFUL IN YOUR FUTURE MODELING CAREER. REMEMBER,NEVER PAY FOR AN AGENCY! THEY PAY YOU!
GOOD LUCK! ^_^

Look, if you feel you are overweight now, holy cow will you feel like crap if you do modelling! Too thin is not thin enough and people in the business are brutal. Do yourself a favor and go into commercials. They're always looking for many kinds of people to sell things! Find a GOOD and RELIABLE agent in your area(and I can't tell you enough to have your parents help you- so many creeps out there!Never take your clothes off for anyone!!!) Get some headshots made (after you get an agent) and practice speaking clearly. Your agent can give you tips for doing well at auditions. Also look into voice-over work. You can make good money on local productions and great money for national spots. You don't even need to be a good actress, although it wouldn't hurt. Go out for your local theater to get some stage time. You may even score some gigs that way. This probably isn't the answer you were hoping for, but think about it. Modelling is very limited, but commercials use all sorts of people, all ages.

Anyone can be a model as long as they have the right attitude and are happy with the work, and don't expect overnight success. If you are actually thinking about it here is some advise.

I have heard a lot of bad thing about SOME (not all) modelling agencies and how they make you pay for photos and photo sessions before they take you on then never give you any work. Always check with the local Better Business Bureau.

NEVER GO ON YOUR OWN ALWAYS TAKE YOUR PARENTS!!!! BE VERY CAREFUL WHAT YOU SIGN!!!

I think a better starting place before you go to agencies is if you have a friend who is reasonable with a camera (do not have to be a professional or even that good just okay) Just take 100 photos of yourself in different poses, clothing and backgrounds then pick out 10-20 nice photos. You can then use this as a portfolio, and even better instead of printing them which cost you money every time, host them on a website and get some business cards print with the website address on and just hand these out instead. This is a far cheaper way of doing it and with no RISK. You should never have to pay to get a job if you do there is a high chance it is a scam.

However if you would like a personal portfolio site please contact me and I will set you on up for free. I can design you a fully personalised flash website with as much or little information and then host it for you. This site can contain a gallery of your photos, personal information, list of work, contact details, etc or if you prefer just a couple of photos and nothing else. It can be password protected and all images will be protected as is humanly possible, or the photos can be available to download.

Examples of work can be provided on request. Just message me here if you want, I am a professional website designer but have lots of free time (and enough money) so I am currently doing free sites for small bands, small artist etc, basically anyone who could not afford them otherwise. I have my own hosting server so can offer hosting servers or you can host the site yourselves. No images sent to me will be used for anything other than your site and I will not give anyone your detail or link to the site. You will have complete control and the site can be removed or changed at any time. This is not a scam and I will design a site for FREE, I do not need the money, and enjoy working. If you do want it message me you can tell me what you want and how you want it done and I will help.

parents permission required!!!! for me to design you a site

The first thing you need to be sucessful in the modeling industry is the one thing that you are lacking the most for it, or any other industry, and that is confidence!!! Don't worry though, you have confidence deep inside of you, and you can bring it out; once you do, you will be able to model, at any weight, and you will feel great about yourself, and how to bring out your features.

As a woman who modeled since age 9, and as former modeling instructor, you would definitely benefit from a modeling school/agency. You definitely want to make sure the school is a reputable one such as a Barbizon ; if the Barbizon has a live, working agency attached to it, so much the better. Make sure you discuss your plans with your parents, and good luck to you!

First, a lot of places (Limited Too or Claire's for example) look for models about your age to do magazines and things, so there's definately a demand for models your age. I would start by making sure you're healthy. Don't starve yourself. There's a difference between skinny and healthy. Eat right, exersize... and try to think good things about yourself. You HAVE to be confident to model. Find an agent and see what you can get! So you know, getting started in modeling can be very pricey. You have to pay to get a portfoio, agent, all that stuff if you want it seriously. If you're just looking for some after school cash, see if there are any family businesses in the area that hire ages 14-15. I know Chick-fil-a does if you have one near you. Good luck!

Well if you aren't with an agency or anything like that, you should try looking for open casting calls in places like the local newspaper. Me and my friends did this and some of us actually got jobs. It's really hard though because only about 1 in 300 or so people will be chosen. My advice would be to try out for something that would match you. (ex. I have really long, curly eyelashes and this is the main reason why I got a mascara print-ad job). My friend got a job because she was friendly, and had an introduction. You should say something like: Hi, my name is____ and I am trying out for the part ____(girl or something like that) for a (the name of company) ____(ad, commercial, or w/e it is). Hope this helps. :) oh and dont worry about your age, i just turned 15 and my friends are even younger.
