But as soon as I took it home it would not work again for me. This is the 2nd game that it has done this too!! why is it doing this and how can I fix it?
any help would be appreciated thanks!

Try cleaning the drive, otherwise it will have to be replaced. I'm not certain if Xbox drives are proprietary or not but I would tend to think so.
btw- make sure its the right disk i.e. its an xbox disk for an xbox and not for a Xbox360

Mine does that sometimes too, but it's real old. Ussually when that happens, I leave the system on eject the game, and then close it right back up, after one or 2 tries the game always works, if that doesN#t work try repairs or a new xbox.

When I first bought an xbox, it couln't recognize any game. It turned out that the xbox was broken. If your xbox reads only certain games and doesn't read all xbox games, then I am sorry.

Because the x-box is a crappy system built by a crappy company.
