today's my first day of college..?

i'm going to college from 6-10PM for a medical assistant program for 8 months. i'm sooo nervous. i don't know if its because i'm starting something new, or because i just moved from virginia to california, so i wont know anyone or anything. i'm looking for some tips or inspiration.

Being nervous just goes with the territory. It's a new experience and you just don't know what to expect. Plus you don't know if you'll be able to make it through to the end. And of course, there's paying back any student loans / financial aid.

But I'll tell you what I tell my students,

1) Congrats for deciding to better yourself by furthering your education,

2) Realize that it will take dedication and persistence because you'll do well in some areas, yet struggle in others,

3) Don't be afraid to ask for help. That's what teachers are there for and believe me, you're not alone in not knowing it all. Everyone eventually needs assistance, but many fail to ask for help. Don't be afraid!

4) Keep up with the material!

5) Don't wait until the last minute to do homework or prep for exams because you won't do nearly as well, and

6) Take careful notes, writing down things that are most important. Don't write it all, pick and choose the KEY points you need to remember.

NRHH1: deliver like 2 situations of water, and quite some snacks. At my college, the nearest keep is style of a 30 minute walk. except you aren't to any extent further residing on campus.. lol. it is style of like the first days in severe college, going over syllabuses, assessment of the route, etc. NRHH2: Psychology RHH: children Of The Corn- American Dream

Talk to the instructors . . . building a relationship early will allow you to be more confident and more likely participate in classroom discussions. You'll be more involved in the courses and get more out of the program.

Time management is the key to success in college. Remember grades do count. Don't cop out with the "C's get degrees" attitude.

Stick to your professors outlines, they all feel they have better outlook on the subject then who wrote the book, so follow their outlines and you will be fine.
