I just don't get it. It's like white people have rap on the brain. Whatever happened to the good old days when white people listened to everything but rap?

You know this whole question is shows that the U.S. is falling...presumably because of the low people in it. First of all, rap music can be heard by anyone! Music is so beautiful because it is not complicated like that....anyone can hear it and enjoy it. Now, why must you label people into "black" or "white"? First of all, those colors are wrong. There are many more skin tones Rather than those. Also, if by white you mean Caucasian then, Caucasians are NOT WHITE. They have many different skin colors but never have I seen a WHITE skin tone. (Not even in a person who is albino) Same with the African heritage. No one is black.
Why can't people see that we are all created equal which means THAT WE CAN ALL LISTEN TO THE SAME MUSIC?!

I agree with Sarah. It is very racist to classify people solely because of the color of their skin. It's actually the definition of racism. So please grow up and start livin in the real world. But the problem is that this is the world. So many people today are like you and they judge and classify people because of their skin. I'm not one to judge so don't take it personally, i'm just trying to help u have a more open mind. And to answer the question, it is because the media portrays rap to be the best music out there and if u don't listen to it, then somehow you are racist. But that is just my opinion and I haven't explained it fully but that's just my answer to ur question

Because they general public are sheep and are told by the media what they do and don't like -- and this is the PERFECT example of that!!!
I'm not directing this at any particular ethnic group -- anyone is entitled to like anything they choose -- but the media has been pushing rap for a long time now, and it's permeated absolutely everything, so it's almost a case study in leading sheep.

Well, first of all rap music is for anybody who wants to listen to it. It's not made specifically for one race or culture. I guess rap is just popular these days!

Please ,I wish people would not jugde people by the color of there skin or what music they listen to.Someone close to me hates rap ,but all of us like some of it .You like what you like its music its your choice.And white people do listen to every type of music or none at all.Just depends on your mood at times.

HIP-HOP AND OTHER URBAN MUSIC HAS BECOME MAINSTREAM. BEFORE IT WASNT. ITS NOT JUST WHITE PEOPLE ,ALOT OF OTHER CULTURES ARE ALSO EMBRACING URBAN MUSIC.
